Keyword Targeting Blueprint [Part 1]

Hey,

Over the next few days, I'm going to share with your a "roadmap", a "blueprint" if you will, of how to setup your core manual targeting Amazon Ads campaigns.

We'll start with Keyword targeting, then move onto ASIN targeting, before finally wrapping things up with Category targeting.

Let's do this...

Keyword Targeting Campaign #1: Author Targeting

Step 1: Find 10-15 of your absolute best comp (comparable) authors (you can find these on the Customers also bought items by section on your Amazon Author Page)

Step 2: Setup a new campaign advertising Book 1 of your series (or a standalone book) and target these 10-15 comp authors using the Phrase Match Type

Step 3: Set your bid for each Author you're targeting to around $0.50 (use 'odd' numbers such as $0.51 or $0.53 for best results)

Step 4: Choose your bidding strategy: Fixed Bids if you're less risk averse, Dynamic Bids Down Only if you're more risk averse.

Step 5: Set your budget to $10-$20 per day and launch your campaign

Step 6: Let the campaign run for at least 2 weeks, then optimize accordingly.

This is as simple as it needs to be. We often over complicate a lot of things in life, but when you boil things down, they actually become very simple. Not necessarily easy, but simple.
