How To Scale Your Amazon Ads


Yesterday was a very somber day here in the UK, as Queen Elizabeth II very sadly passed away at the age of 96 after serving as Queen for 70 years.

She did so much good for this country and will be sorely missed by millions of people from around the world. Rest in Peace, Your Majesty.

Today, in The Morning ACOS, I'm going to show you how to scale your Amazon Ads.

If you want to reach more readers and not only sell more books with Amazon Ads, but also make more organic sales, then scaling is vitally important for you to understand.

Scaling is a term that's bashed around a lot, but without a system in place and knowing how to scale effectively, it's not going to work.

I cover scaling much more in-depth than I can with an email inside Amazon Ads Academy For Authors, but I do still want to give you a roadmap on how to scale today.

Ultimately, scaling is doubling down on what is already proven and working.

Scaling Amazon Ads is very simple and comes back to my favorite topic and a "rule" I refer to a lot...

The 80/20 Principle

Here's the breakdown of how to scale:
Find proven keywords and ASINs in Search Term Reports (2+ orders/borrows)
Put them into their own campaign (one for keywords and one for ASINs)
Bid aggressively (more than your CPC in the source campaign)
Use a high daily budget ($20+)
There are some nuances in there too, based on your unique results, your books, your goals, etc, that means I can't tell you "bid this exact amount", but scaling really is that simple.

Automatic Targeting campaigns
Category Targeting campaigns
Keyword Targeting campaigns
ASIN Targeting campaigns
What if you want to scale an Automatic Targeting campaign to find even more keywords and ASINs to scale?

Very simple:

Increase the daily budget
Change the Bidding Strategy to Dynamic Bids Up and Down
Keep optimizing (as Amazon will find more targets that won't always work)
Automatic Targeting campaigns should make up the foundation of your Amazon Ads account; they are where you'll find a LOT of keywords and ASINs to scale up.

In some accounts I manage, they are the best-performing campaign! However, an important note here...

Only scale up Automatic Targeting campaigns that are performing well.

If you try and scale up a poor-performing Automatic Targeting campaign, you're going to be scaling exactly that - a poor-performing campaign!
