Please Read This Before Anything Else…

If you've just joined and you're feeling a little overwhelmed, that's completely normal.

There's a lot in here: a full curriculum, live calls, replays, tools and a community of authors. Nobody is expected to take it all in at once, and trying to is the fastest way to stall.

Whether you write cozy mysteries, epic fantasy or books that grow your coaching business, you're here for the same reason: to turn your books into a profitable business, with ads that pay for themselves. That doesn't happen by watching everything. It happens by doing the right things, in the right order.

So here's exactly what to do. Follow it in order, because most of your success in the first month comes from getting these steps right.

Today (about 30 minutes, before you close this tab)

Step 1: Watch the video above (10 minutes)
Step 2: If you haven't already, build Your 30-Day Plan (about 6 minutes). Answer the questions honestly and you'll get a plan built around your books, your numbers and your goals. Your plan is saved in the browser you create it on, so take a screenshot or save it as a PDF to keep it handy on any device.
Step 3: Introduce yourself in Introduce Yourself: who you are, what you write and what you'd like the next 90 days to bring
Step 4: Block 60 minutes in your calendar for tomorrow

Tomorrow (about 60 minutes)

Step 5: Open Run Your Numbers and work out what a reader is really worth to you, and what you can afford to spend to find one (about 20 minutes)
Step 6: Start the first lesson on your 30-Day Plan (about 40 minutes)

This week (about 30 minutes a day)

Step 7: Work through your 30-Day Plan in order. If your plan starts with foundations like your product page, blurb or pricing, do those first. Ads amplify what's already there, so getting the foundations right is what makes the ads profitable later.
Step 8: Come to your first live call. Office Hours run on the first and third Wednesday of every month at 2pm UK (9am ET, 6am PT). You'll find every session in Live Calls.

Your first 30 days

Step 9: Use Ask Matt as much as you need. That's what it's there for, and no question is too small.
Step 10: When you're stuck between calls, ask AuthorOS, your mentor that's available 24/7.

That's it.

For your first 30 days, you have my permission to ignore everything that isn't on your plan. That means the Vault replays, the chapters your plan doesn't mention yet and the ad platforms you're not focusing on. They'll all still be here when you're ready, and they'll make far more sense once your foundations are in place.

The authors who get results in here aren't the ones who watch the most. They're the ones who pick one focus, follow the plan and take the next step, then the one after that.
