AuthorOS Help And FAQs

AuthorOS is your personal author business strategist, available 24/7. It's trained on the same foundations-first system I've used to build a $1.5M+ author business — covers, blurbs, book pages, email lists, and then advertising on Facebook, Amazon, and BookBub.

Ask it anything about growing your royalties and it'll answer in the order that actually works.

No. AuthorOS can help you plan and launch your first book — cover direction, blurb, categories, keywords, pricing, pre-launch email list, launch plan, and how to think about ads once you're ready.

If you're pre-publication, use it to build the foundations properly the first time so you're not undoing mistakes later. If you're already published, use it to fix what's underperforming and grow from there.

Book foundations (covers, blurbs, book pages, categories, keywords, pricing), email marketing and list building, book launches, Facebook Ads, Amazon Ads, BookBub Ads, and the wider question of running your writing career like a business.

Ask about campaign setup, budget allocation, optimisation, launch plans, or any marketing or business challenge you're stuck on.

Yes. It's trained on strategies for business books, self-help, memoir, prescriptive non-fiction, and more — including the genre-specific stuff (authority building, funnels, front-book/back-book strategy) that non-fiction authors need. Fiction still gets the bulk of the audience, but the non-fiction playbook is in there.

AuthorOS is trained on the real strategies that built multiple successful author businesses in both fiction and non-fiction. ChatGPT will give you generic marketing advice that sounds right. AuthorOS will tell you what to actually do next — and, more importantly, what order to do it in.

It understands the nuances of book marketing, platform-specific tactics, and the challenges associated with building an author business that general AI tools don't grasp.

The question you ask AuthorOS is called a prompt. The more specific you are, the sharper the answer.

Good prompt: "I'm launching a contemporary romance novel next month. I've got a $500 budget for Facebook ads and my target audience is women aged 25-45 who read authors like Colleen Hoover. How should I structure my campaigns and what budget split would you recommend?"

Poor prompt: "How do I advertise my romance book?"

Four things to include in every prompt:

• Your genre, budget, and timeline.
• Where you are now ("I'm a new author" vs "I've published five books").
• What you've already tried.
• What you're trying to achieve (sales, email list, brand awareness).

Included with AuthorOS is a Prompt Library — 20 ready-to-use templates you can drop straight into a chat. Access the Prompt Library here.

Yes. It's trained on strategies across fiction and non-fiction — romance, thriller, fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, self-help, business, memoir, and more. It understands genre-specific reader behaviour, pricing, comps, and marketing angles.

Yes — and this is where most authors should start before spending on ads. Ads amplify what's already there. If your cover doesn't convert, your blurb doesn't sell, or your book page isn't dialled in, ads will just help you lose money faster.

Ask AuthorOS to critique your blurb, review your categories and keywords, or pressure-test your pricing before you touch a single ad campaign.

Yes. AuthorOS can draft ad copy, blurbs, launch emails, newsletter angles, and more. You'll get much better results if you give it your genre, tone, comps, target reader, and any existing copy to work from. Treat it as a strong first draft — you're the author, you edit.

Yes. Share your campaign metrics — CTR, CPC, ACOS, spend, time period, what you're advertising — and AuthorOS will tell you what's working, what isn't, and what to change. The more data you share, the sharper the recommendations.

As often as you need to. Most authors use it weekly to review campaign performance, before launching new books, when they're stuck on a foundation piece (blurb, categories, pricing), or any time they're about to spend money on ads. There's no usage limit — use it whenever you'd otherwise be guessing.

Yes. AuthorOS remembers every previous conversation you've had with it. You can also continue previous chats at anytime and carry on from where you left off.

No — AuthorOS doesn't generate images. It can review them, analyze them, and give you specific suggestions (why your ad creative isn't converting, what to change on your A+ content modules, whether your cover works for your genre), but it won't produce the image itself.

For actually making the image, use a dedicated tool — Claude Design, Canva, Photoshop, Midjourney, ChatGPT, or a designer on Fiverr or 99designs. Bring the result back into AuthorOS if you want feedback before you run with it.

No. AuthorOS is built for the marketing, advertising, and business side of being an author — blurbs, book pages, ad copy, categories and keywords, email list building, pricing, launch strategy, running your writing like a business.

It's not a proofreader or a developmental editor, and it's not designed to catch typos, fix pacing, or line-edit your prose. For that, use a dedicated editor or a tool built for the job (ProWritingAid, Grammarly, a human editor).

Bring AuthorOS in once the book itself is done and it's time to sell it.

No. AuthorOS has a 10,000-word limit on document uploads, which won't fit a full manuscript.

You can upload shorter pieces though: a single chapter, your blurb, a sample of your writing, or a piece of copy you want feedback on. Anything under 10,000 words is fine, and that covers most of what people actually want AuthorOS to look at.

For full-manuscript work like structural editing or developmental feedback, you'd want a human editor rather than AI.

No, AuthorOS is text-only. Book covers, ad creatives, screenshots, none of these can be uploaded.

The workaround is to describe what you're looking at in words. For a Facebook ad, paste the primary text, headline and description. For a book cover, describe the visuals, colours and typography. For a KDP or ad dashboard screenshot, copy the numbers or text out of the image and paste them in.

For anything where you genuinely need an AI to see the image, Claude or ChatGPT accept image uploads.

AuthorOS is built on strategies that have generated real results, but every author's situation is different. When in doubt, test small. Try AuthorOS's suggestion with a low budget first, compare results, and scale what works for your specific books and audience.

AuthorOS is a strategist, not an oracle. It's trained on strategies that have worked at scale, but it can still get details wrong — especially platform-specific settings that change often (Facebook UI, Amazon Ads categories, KDP rules).

Verify anything critical against the platform itself before you act, test small before you scale, and let me know via the feedback link so I can improve it.
