It's Launched
Jan 10, 20244 weeks ago I started re-building my wife's Shopify Store, and yesterday, I was finally happy enough to launch it – wahoo! (and phew!)
If you're interested, you can check it out here.
I know I've spent too long building it, but to be perfectly honest, I was having fun.
I also have a habit of being a perfectionist.
And because I know I'm likely to tinker with something like a Shopify Store, I'll set a time constraint to keep myself under control.
If I hadn't set a time limit on this project, I would have let it go on for 6 months, at least.
And for me, I'd rather take imperfect action, than zero action. I know the store's not perfect, but it works.
The first Shopify Store I built back in the summer of 2023, took about 1 week to build and launch.
I didn't know it at the time, but what I later learned from Joanna Penn, was that I was building a Minimum Viable Store.
I wanted to get the store up and running quickly because once you have something out there in the real world you can start collecting data.
No store. No data. No Ads. No data. No books. No data.
When you start collecting data, that's when you can start making much more informed decisions.
Until then though, you're flying blind.
With 8 or 9 months of data behind me now, as well as the investment I've put into learning eCommerce through courses and a coach, I felt it was time to switch things up with the store.
That's not to say the original store was "bad", but I knew it could be better.
So, what's the purpose behind this email...
It's to give you permission to put yourself out there and know that whatever it is you're putting out, it doesn't have to be perfect.
This is a continuous game of learning, testing, tweaking and developing.
It never ends.
Not in a bad way, but in a way that means you will continue to improve as time goes on, because you have solid data to work with.
You're no longer guessing.
Even though Lori's new store is now live, it's not finished. No way near.
I have a list of at least 20+ tasks to implement over the coming weeks.
And that list will continue to expand.
It's never going to be "finished" and I don't want it to be either.
I'll be continuously testing different parts of the store to see if I can improve performance.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a course on direct sales to build (lauching April 2024 – join the waitlist here), and 3 kids to prepare for another day at daycare.
To Your Success
