#087: You Are Exactly Where You're Meant To Be

"I should know more"

"I'm not as far along as I should be"

"I'm not as successful as I should be"

"I've written 10 books, I should be earning a full-time income by now"

"Shoulding" all over yourself like this isn't helpful.

Don't feel ashamed about where you are right now.

You are exactly where you're supposed to be.

We are all on our own adventure.

If you let shame or embarrassment take over your mind, you'll stop yourself from getting the help and guidance you need to get to where you want to be.

You'll get in your own way.

There are no silly questions. We don't know what we don't know.

You grow and develop as a person, as an author, by asking questions and exploring your curiosity.

Being an author, running a business, is a challenging journey.

The fact that you're here reading this email, the fact that you've published a book or two, or are about to publish your first book, goes to show that you have what it takes to succeed.

Only a small proportion of the world's population choose to go on this journey of being an author, or even starting their own business.

A monthly paycheck is more comfortable for 99% of the population.

But you...

You've chosen to embark on this journey and follow a path that society warns us against taking.

It's unclear, it's uncertain, it's stepping into the unknown; it goes against our human psyche.
